Home Loser Loan Campaign
Many people in debt consider taking out a consolidation loan, a widely advertised option of combining all current debts into one loan and one monthly repayment.
This can be a good option for some people, however, many do not realise that they may be paying very high interest rates and that if the loan is secured on their property, they may be subject to possession (eviction) proceedings if they do not keep up with repayments.
This campaign is aimed at raising awareness of these issues. It was launched in January 2006 and consists of 20,000 leaflets being distributed through organisations that may be dealing with people that are currently homeowners or thinking of becoming homeowners, such as:
Credit Unions
Housing and tenants organisations
Libraries
Health Centres
Community organisations
